How It Works

Three Ways to Get Remote Help

Depending on what you need, we can handle it by phone, over a video call, or I can take control of your screen directly and fix it myself. I'll recommend the right approach when you reach out.

Phone Call

Best for quick questions, talking through a problem, or figuring out next steps together. Low barrier — no apps, no setup, just a call. A good starting point if you're not sure what kind of help you need.

Video Call with Screen Share

You share your screen so I can see exactly what's happening while we talk through it together. Great for software troubleshooting, walking through settings, or tech tutoring sessions. Uses Google Meet or Zoom — I'll send you a link, no account required on your end.

Full Remote Control

I take control of your mouse and keyboard directly and fix the problem myself while you watch. The most hands-off option for you — just sit back. Works on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook via Chrome Remote Desktop. I'll walk you through the one-time setup, which takes about a minute.

What's Possible Remotely

What I Can Help With

Most software problems can be handled without me ever needing to touch your device in person. Here are the most common remote requests.

Virus & Malware Removal

Pop-ups, slow performance, strange behavior. I can run a full clean remotely on Windows, Mac or Linux without your computer leaving your desk.

Software Troubleshooting

Apps crashing, updates breaking things, programs that won't open. Diagnosed and fixed across all major operating systems.

OS Setup & Configuration

Fresh Windows or macOS install follow-up, settings configuration, user account setup, privacy settings and getting everything working the way you want.

Printer & Peripheral Issues

Driver problems, printers that won't connect, devices that aren't being recognized. Many printer issues are software-side and fully fixable remotely.

Network & WiFi Troubleshooting

Devices that won't stay connected, slow speeds, VPN issues and other network problems that can be diagnosed from your end without a visit.

Tech Tutoring & Walkthroughs

Learning a new program, getting comfortable with your device, or just need someone to walk you through something step by step. Remote sessions work great for this — see Tech Tutoring for more.

Second Opinion & Advice

Not sure if a repair is worth doing? Wondering if you need a new computer? A quick call or video session can save you money and time before you make a decision.

Email & Account Setup

Setting up email clients, recovering accounts, configuring two-factor authentication or just getting a new email account sorted out properly.

Honest Limitations

What Remote Can't Fix

Remote support is great for software, but it has real limits. Here's when you'd need to come in or have me visit instead.

Hardware Repairs

Broken screens, failing drives, RAM upgrades and any physical repair need hands on the device. Those require a drop-off or an on-site visit.

Device Won't Power On

If the computer won't boot at all, there's nothing to remote into. That needs to come in for diagnosis in person.

No Internet Connection

Remote support requires an active internet connection. If your connection is completely down, an on-site visit or drop-off is the way to go.

Tools I Use

Platforms & Compatibility

I'll always tell you which tool to use and walk you through the setup — it's usually just a single click or a short link.

Chrome Remote Desktop

Full remote control on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. Requires Google Chrome, which most people already have — if not, it's a free install. I'll send you a simple link and walk you through the one-time setup, which takes about a minute.

Zoom

Video calls with screen share and remote control on Windows and Mac. Good for sessions where we need to talk through things together while I work. No account needed to join a call.

Google Meet

Lightweight video calls with screen sharing. Works in any browser, no app needed, and I just send you a link. Great for tutoring sessions or when we only need to see your screen.

Not Sure If Remote Will Work?

Describe what's going on and I'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can handle remotely or whether you'd be better off with a drop-off or on-site visit. No commitment to get an answer.

Need Help Right Now?

Reach out and describe what's going on. I'll let you know if remote support can handle it and get you sorted quickly.
